Over the years, Summer Youth Leadership Program has welcomed an inspiring lineup of Asian American leaders — from public officials and professors to journalists and community activists. Past speakers include Supreme Court Justice Mary Yu, Seattle Deputy Mayor Hyeok Kim, Sen. Bob Hasegawa, Prof. Connie So, KING TV anchor Lori Matsukawa, Prof. Andrew Cho, the late Uncle Bob Santos, Troy Osaki, University of Washington President Ana Marie Cauce, and more
Field Trips
SYLP takes students beyond the classroom with field trips that bring leadership, history, and culture to life. Places we have visited in the past was the Wing Luke Museum, Danny Woo Garden, tour of Chinatown International District, King 5 News Station, King County Court House, Japanese Cultural & Community Center of Washington, Tsue Chong Fortune Cookie Factory, University of Washington-Seattle Campus, and more!

Local Eats
SYLP exposed students to many businesses in the Chinatown/International District. Lunch is provided by the program for the three weeks. Past lunches include: Tai Tung, Ho Ho, Duk Li, Lam’s Seafood, Bush Asia, Sun Ya Restaurant, Loving Hut, and more.
